Friday - Day of Arrival!

  1. Arrive to your homebase for the weekend - Old Pike Cottages. Welcome to your home base for the weekend — Old Pike Cottages. You’ll be greeted by friendly, smiling faces, beautifully manicured grounds, and a clean, cozy cottage right on Lake Kalamazoo. After settling in, take a stroll down to the docks and enjoy the peaceful water views just steps from your door.

  2. Saugatuck Farmer’s Market. Once you’ve unpacked, it’s time to explore! Head just a few blocks over to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts for the local farmers market. This bustling market features fresh produce, handmade goods, and a variety of local favorites. Be sure to stop by earlier in the day if you can — the market wraps up at 2pm!

  3. Pool Time at OPC. Back at Old Pike Cottages, it’s time to change into your swimsuit and unwind. Take advantage of our heated pool and hot tub, open earlier and longer than most outdoor pools in the area. Grab a pool towel from your cottage and feel free to borrow pool toys for the kids from the dock boxes near the back deck.

  4. Dinner & Karaoke. After a full afternoon, you’ve likely worked up an appetite. For dinner, head to Phil’s Bar & Grille — a local favorite known for great food, refreshing drinks, and friendly service. When you’re ready to keep the fun going, make your way to Coral Gables on Water Street for karaoke in the Corner Bar — a lively spot for a fun night out.

Saturday

  1. Breakfast and Coffee. There’s nothing better than a slow morning on the lakeshore. Start your day with a quick bite from our complimentary continental breakfast in the common space, then head downtown to Uncommon Grounds for a delicious coffee before another day of exploring.

  2. Saugatuck Dune Rides. Ready for some thrills? Head over to Saugatuck Dune Rides, one of West Michigan’s most beloved attractions. This 40-minute guided ride through the dunes is exciting, scenic, and fun for all ages — with a bit of local history mixed in along the way.

  3. Music in the Vineyard (Fennville). For a relaxing afternoon, take a short drive to nearby Fennville and visit Fenn Valley Vineyards. Every Saturday from 2–5pm, they host live music featuring talented local artists. Sip on locally crafted wines or hard ciders while enjoying the peaceful vineyard setting.

  4. Wine on the Water. Be sure to head back toward Saugatuck in time for this one! The Star of Saugatuck Boat Cruises offers curated wine tastings most Saturdays from 4–5:30pm. It’s the perfect combination of scenic views, relaxing boat time, and great wine — truly a unique lakeshore experience.

  5. Dinner. After a busy day, settle in for a memorable dinner at Bowdie’s Chophouse, one of Saugatuck’s premier dining spots. Known for its expertly prepared steaks, craft cocktails, and upscale atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind. Enjoy a leisurely meal, perhaps a glass of wine or dessert, and then head back to your cottage for a relaxing evening.

Sunday

  1. Sunday Brunch. It wouldn’t be a Sunday morning without Brunch! Head over to downtown Douglas for a pleasant local brunch at Happystance Dinette! A hip and friendly little chef-driven dinette in the heart of downtown Douglas serving up tasty breakfast and plenty of friendly smiles with their service! They also have a bar including mimosas, craft cocktails, local beer, hard cider and more!

  2. Shopping. After brunch, head into downtown Saugatuck for a relaxed afternoon of shopping. The streets are lined with charming local boutiques, art galleries, and specialty shops, making it easy to spend a few hours browsing and discovering something unique. It’s the perfect way to soak in the small-town atmosphere and take a little piece of Saugatuck home with you.

  3. Oval Beach. No trip to Saugatuck is complete without a visit to Oval Beach. Known for its wide sandy shoreline and beautiful Lake Michigan views, it’s the perfect spot to spend a few hours relaxing by the water, taking a walk along the shore, or simply enjoying the fresh lakeshore breeze. It’s a must-see stop, especially on a sunny afternoon.

  4. Grill at OPC. Head back to Old Pike Cottages and enjoy a laid-back evening using our outdoor grill and picnic area. With plenty of shaded seating and space to gather, it’s a great way to unwind after a day in town. Pick up some local favorites or fresh ingredients nearby and enjoy a simple, relaxed dinner right at your home base.

  5. Pool & Bonfire. End your weekend on a high note with an evening dip in the pool or a soak in the hot tub, followed by a cozy evening around one of our fire pits. Whether you’re roasting s’mores, sharing stories, or just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to wind down and make the most of your last night at Old Pike Cottages.

Monday - Day of Departure

  1. Coffee & Breakfast. Sleep in, relax, and enjoy your final morning at Old Pike Cottages. Before heading out, stop by the common space for a light breakfast and a cup of coffee — the perfect way to ease into the day.

  2. Departure. Everyone’s least favorite part of the trip (including ours!). While we’re always sad to see our guests go, we hope your time here was memorable and relaxing — and that we’ll have the chance to welcome you back again soon.
